AND THIS IS THE MUSE

hi, im hayley

For over a decade, I’ve been helping people feel stronger, move better, and reconnect with their bodies. My journey began on the football grounds, working as a Sports and Rehabilitation Therapist where I focused on acute sports injuries. But I quickly realised that everyone, not just athletes need support to prevent pain, recover from injuries, and maintain alignment and balance in their everyday lives. Age is not always kind so any help we can get along the way to help us feel younger for longer is a bonus.

So let’s rewind, around seven years ago, I took a leap into Hatha Yoga and Meditation. At first, I wanted to help my clients with stretching, but Yoga ended up transforming my life, too. It brought me the balance and calm I didn’t know I needed and has helped me so much in life. I began teaching in gyms such as David Lloyd, and during all the lockdowns, I built a wonderful online yoga community that I’m lucky to still see and teach today. As I continue to explore Yoga’s sister science, Ayurveda, I’m learning even more ways to bring mind-body harmony into my practice (Lots more to come)

Then five years ago, my passion for understanding the body’s mechanics led me to the wonderful world of Pilates. I was working with so many clients struggling with lower back pain and realised the importance of a strong core and honesty just proper alignment for preventing long-term issues like Arthritis and Sciatica. Pilates became a game changer for me, and for my clients as I started to intertwine Yoga, Pilates and Rehabilitation. I went on to complete my certification in lower back pain Pilates, Reformer Pilates, giving me the tools to help people strengthen their “powerhouse” (CORE) and feel better from head to toe.

LETS GET PERSONAL

My professional journey has beautifully intertwined with my own personal life experiences. My Pilates training became invaluable after my son’s birth, which involved a complex T - Cesarean delivery (That basically means across and down). It was a very challenging time, both physically and emotionally for me, but I drew on my knowledge of Pilates, Yoga, and Rehabilitation to heal my body and mind. I had only met one other person who had such a complex labor and honestly was offered no aftercare or help from the medical field. That experience deepened my belief that everything we face in life has a purpose, and that we’re always stronger than we think.

Life truly does have a way of throwing challenges at us but If we have the right tools in our belt and have strong roots, we can manage just about anything.

People often ask me, “What’s the difference between Pilates and yoga?” Simply put, Pilates focuses on your body, so your muscles, joints, and spine. Keeping you moving like you’re 30 at 60 and above all when a sickness or injury was to come your way, your body is ready or can at least bounce back better. Yoga is a gift for your mind and nervous system, a practice that grounds and calms you while connecting you to your breath and again if you was to experience a challenging time in your life, you can handle it that much better. Done together, they’re the ultimate combination for resilience and vitality.
